A VERY BRIEF HISTORY...
In the beginning (circa 1981), there was The Apostles. After that was the formation of Academy 23, who then changed their name to Unit in 1994. Since Williams, Coles, and Burton left in 2000 Unit has been through numerous line-ups, each one recording an album musically different from the last. As far as the music is concerned, the band have tried their hand(s) at such forms as post-punk, prog rock, pop, avant garde, jazz and free imrpov, rendering any attempts at defining the 'type' of band they are as quite futile.

MARCH '08 - Brand new studio albums Rock In Opposition Phase 3 and 4, now available! See 'Music' for info. If you thought it was even possible, RIO 3 over takes RIO 2 as the most avant garde piece of work we've ever done, while RIO 4 sees us return to a more accessible sound (i.e rock songs) last heard on 'Dare To Be Different'. These two albums finally conclude our Rock In Opposition series.

MARCH '07 - Like virtually every other band on the entire planet, we can now be found on (sigh) MySpace. It was going to happen eventually...

FEB '07 - GIG! We will be performing live at Chats Palace in Hackney on Sunday the 13th of May, alongside local bands Superdemilo, Whyte Crow and The Council. Entrance fee is a mere £5, so there's no excuse for being stingy! Opening time and further details will come as the date approaches.
NOV '06 - The JAM PACKED second issue of Back2Front magazine (zine?) is out now!
